Kuretake Masking Marker
The Kuretake Masking Marker allows you to temporarily protect, “cover” parts of the paper with masking fluid so that the paper is not stained when painting with watercolour paint. It temporarily protects parts of the work (lines and larger areas) from water, paint, ink.
It contains masking fluid/masking rubber in a light grey colour. Thanks to the colouring of the liquid, we can see where it has been applied. The neutral colour of the liquid does not hinder the work of composing a colour palette while painting.
How to use:
- before use, mix the liquid by shaking the pen;
- then press the tip against the ground for a while to move the liquid in the mechanism. The liquid will fill the tip - it will be easy to see;
- apply the liquid to the paper carefully drawing/writing with the marker. The layer should not be too thin, so that the rubber is easy to pull off;
- after the masking fluid dries, you can paint with paints. Paper protected with masking fluid will not stain;
- after the paint and paper are thoroughly dry - the protective layer from the masking fluid is easy to wipe off (with a finger or eraser);
- after use, the tip should be removed from the marker and washed in warm water. If it is not possible to wash the tip immediately - remove it from the marker and place it in water until washing so that it does not dry out;
- the clean tip can be put back into the marker.
