Arteina Drypoint Junior Etching Tools are great for those new to engraving. They are specialised instruments used to carve, scratch, or incise designs into metal plates (such as copper, zinc, or steel) or other hard surfaces, such as plastic, for drypoint printmaking. These lightweight tools are made of carbon and alloy steel and are mounted on handles made of the finest beechwood and come in a range of sizes for producing a variety of different effects.
A thin or fine burnisher is used in intaglio etching and printmaking to polish, compress, and flatten tiny or narrow areas of a metal plate. A ball burnisher is used to smooth out, flatten, or polish localised areas of a metal plate.
